Spruce Street Garden – Craft Tavern

From Alex and Georgia at Spruce Street Garden – Craft Tavern:

With a heavy heart, we have scaled back to take out and delivery options only. We hope to offer this as long as it remains safe, sustainable, and legal. We will be taking orders via phone ( 3369997300 ), as well as through Uber Eats. We will be offering curbside pick-up as well, on request. We are working very hard to work out the logistics of delivery and hope to provide delivery services in the near future!

On a side note, the concern and support we have received through these unsettling times means the world to us. Thank you guys for the continued support. We hope to be back to normal as soon as possible!

West End Cafe

From our friends at West End Cafe…

With Governor Roy Cooper’s announcement today, West End Cafe will be operating as to-go only. We will take payment over the phone at the time the order is placed. We will take cash, but do prefer cards. No personal checks.

Our lunch menu is the same and will be available all day and night, however our dinner menu will be limited to Crab Dip, Burrito, and Pot Roast ONLY.

We will be open from 11am-8pm and will offer curbside pick up (just call us when you arrive in the parking lot), or you are also welcome to come in. We are exploring delivery options, but are a few days away from that.

LASTLY, we will also be offering half price bottles of all wines to go 🍷🍷🍷

We cannot thank you all enough for supporting West End Cafe during this unprecedented time. We are so grateful for this amazing community!

Attention Restaurateurs! Make Sure Your Insurance is Covering You Properly!

From my friend Scott Blackburn:

** Attention restaurant owners **
Due to the recent changes within your industry, you, now more than ever, need to talk with your current agent regarding your delivering food and the potential exposures it represents to your business to make sure you are properly covered. Is food delivery covered under your current insurance program?
Let me know if I can help you in any way.

What To Do With the Food?

In light of Governor Cooper’s executive order to close bars and dine-in restaurants, I have a question. Well, actually, it was posed by my friend and fellow foodie, Tracy Bush (a/k/a Nutrimom), what will the restaurants do with the food they won’t be able to use?

I know that there will be takeout and delivery orders, but I’m pretty sure that most of the restaurants won’t be overrun with business from that. Which, of course, is a horrible thought. But, since we’re all having to face a new reality right now, let’s just put this on the minds of those who “can.”

I hope they donate to the food banks and other locations like that. Food pantries, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, schools, wherever they can. Perhaps employees that will be “laid off” indefinitely?

I don’t want this to be a debate, I’m not even asking for answers. I’m just curious as to what will happen with this.

As always, wash your hands, diligently, and stay safe.
